Well, they did have an entire episode pointing out that Dean would chose that life even if he HAD a normal life to start with, so, I don't think you're stupid. I totally get it. I travel a lot with my school now, and I'm always sort of disappoiting we don't sleep at creepy motels (we stay at sort of nice places actually), or that we never got to face any ghosts (stupid horror movies giving me unrealistic expectations on school trips...). :P
