While it's true that one will never feel completely financially ready to have a baby, one should have reached a basic level of financial stability before having one. Would you really advise someone who, say, has trouble buying groceries and making the rent each month that she should "go for it?" Not saying that that's the situation the OP is in, but the point I'm trying to make is that you can't just disregard financial considerations altogether.
