My favorite thing about all this is that, even though Zuko does carry some of the differentiating physical characteristics that white-dominant society requires to classify him as nonwhite, some people manage to default him to white anyway. No wonder people though Aang could be white.

I may be super-white and making assumptions here... but I'm fairly sure that most of the time when a cartoon character is drawn with almond-shaped eyes and dark brown, almost black hair... it's meant to indicate they are indeed Asian.

*shrugs* He looks Asian to me. I also thought the fire nation is based off of Chinese culture, so it makes sense...
