Aw, they killed him off? I'm only a casual viewer, but I was excited to see him in a TV show since I was a huge fan of Microsoap and Seriously Weird as a kid.

Part of the reason that they killed him specifically is that he landed a pilot for SyFy that'll be out in July called Alphas :) Apparently they had sketched out that one of the squinterns would die, because they assumed that at least one of them would find more regular work elsewhere.

I saw a clip from it on ONTD today though and I'm not totally digging his new accent :x

Until now I'd sort of thought they decided his death on random and that was just insult to injury to me, so thanks for the info, it helps somewhat. (*left a ranty comment blow before reading this*) I should've probably known this already, but I don't really keep up with actors, not even the ones I like. :x

Exactly how I felt. I was just staring at the screen, I had no idea it was coming because I'd been off the internet for ages and hadn't heard it from the USA viewers.

I think they did him dying really well though, what he was saying and Brennan at the time. Off, I said pretty much exactly this when it happened, flods of tears, couldn't watch anymore.

I agree that it was a sad death, but this is an extremely over-dramatic way to say that you just didn't watch the season finale. You missed ONE EPISODE, you didn't "Stop watching the series". :/

Yeah, I get it. It is a bit overly dramatic. But dammit, it felt dramatic. Bones was an important show to me, one of my very favorites, and I went from LOVE to 'nope, never again' in the space of an episode. It hit me in a way that few things have, like a book that I put down and physically can't bring myself to pick up again. I don't think I've ever felt the urge to drop a show quite so dramatically, and the fact that there was just *one* episode left makes it feel even more so. "Stopped watching the show" refers to the season yet on its way. I can't imagine that I'll be back...and it makes me sad.

In conclusion: DRAAAAAAMMMMMMAAAAAAA

I am somehow heartened by this secret. I was afraid there would be no secret about his death at all, even though that thinking is hypocritical since I didn't make one myself (I meant to, but my editing software kept crashing, like it refused to support anything to do with Mr. Nigel Murray's death).

Anyway, yeah. I mostly agree. I don't know if I'll stop watching the show, but I did care more about his death than Zach's departure. This was also the only time Bones made me cry, though I might have been extra hormonal that day so I'm not sure it counts. I am still mad at them! I knew there was a reason I disliked all the episodes with that sniper dude - of course it turned out that guy would be the one to kill Nigel, and not for any good reason, either. They just needed someone to die to hammer it home to the viewers that THIS IS A BAD DUDE, which meant killing someone the viewers knew, but who wasn't that important. WELL, HE WAS IMPORTANT TO MY VIEWING ENJOYMENT, DAMNIT, AND BTW, PTB? YOUR DECISION MAKING SUCKS!

True story: I work at a TV museum/archive and I watch various crap and write about it, and I recently watched & worked on an interview with the cast & crew which included that episode. First & only episode I've ever seen. And I was like "REALLY?? My FIRST ONE, and you're going to kill an adorable Brit?! How is that fair?!?" I was so sad, and I seriously didn't know who anyone was. "Don't make me leave, it's lovely here." FUCK OFF, SHOW. (Also, um...Hart Hanson came off as a major douche in the interview. I was kinda shocked. Is this often true?)
