Way more believable? Maybe, but I'm having such a hard time not picking the really grouchy options in P3P because everyone's acting like ... I don't even know, both the girls and the guys make me irrationally angry with their behavior towards MShe.

I had thought the main changes were to keep the relationships heterosexual? That was part of why I didn't bother playing it. But maybe I'm way off-base with that?

I might play it after all if it's any good.

It's ... not good. It's not bad either. I mean, with the original MC you had that little problem where you were forced to get into a relationship with all of the girls if you wanted to max the links. In the MShe route, you're forced to pick "nice" answers all the time when you'd much rather tell all of the other characters to stfu and stop acting all brainless. (Seriously? I don't need SLinks where the main topic is guys sharing pics of me in my PE wear and "you should totally date Akihiko-senpai, totally!" -- why is there no effing option that lets you shout at poor Junpei, "GO DATE HIM YOURSELF & LEAVE ME ALONE.")

Yes, sorry, I'm ragey. I imagine my girl MC doing all of this with a really forced smile on her face, and punching those Shadows is her way of dealing with the anger.

I spent a lot of time playing the game (or so it seemed to me) but I didn't attempt to max all the links. I think I only got all the way through it with one of the girls.

But it sounds like it may be annoying, yes.

So I'm not the only one who felt that some of the S. Links were forced in that respect.

The way I thought of it, the girl protagonist could do most of the male's exclusive S.links (she could do the SEES ladies just fine), but he couldn't really do hers, because they are dependent on her gender as this girl who needs a man/reminder of a dead sister/guilt material for a dying guy/object of a crush. Oh yeah, and Aigis was incredibly annoying. My ladybits preventing you from 'protecting' me from guys? So go off and threaten the SEES boys while I cuddle with Fuuka.

I broke Akihiko's social link for lulz on one save. IT FELT FUN AND TROLLICIOUS. Then again, I did do horrible things in NG+

Forced is an understatement. And I really, really don't like how the guys treat you; you summed the SLinks up pretty damn well. Hell, I don't even like Mitsuru reminding them that just because I'm a girl, that doesn't mean [whatever stupid thing one of the guys was just blabbering about]. I don't like how Yukari is suddenly nice to me either. Just makes me want to go, "I know you -- I KNOW you, don't you dare try acting all nice and understanding."

It's probably not that bad when you never played P3 before, but damn it.

I'll probably do that at least once, too. Quite frankly, I want to do one run where I pick all the answers I really feel, and if that means I won't get any new Personae, so be it.

Yeah, "constrained" might be better.

I hatehatehate Akihiko's Slink and this "you are a failure if you fail to get in his pants" message the game and his fangirls impose. And who needs a Helel with no Armageddon.

Technically, unlike the poor blue haired fellow, Slinks don't reverse, only take longer. I think some people prefer more direct answers too, but not always.

Even Junpei reinforces that with his SLink, about what, a week into the actual gameplay? That's the poorest writing for a game I've seen in a while, really. (And btw., I find it weird that a girl would have to guess two correct answers to get a boy, when the guy MC can just, pardon me, fuck them at the end anyway.)

Yep. I managed to upset Junpei somehow, I don't even remember how, just that I was seriously confused how that could lead to him being all "meh" towards MShe. But yeah, if you want to get anywhere in this game, you don't have any other options than to act like a super bubbly stereotype of a Japanese schoolgirl.

Oh, doesn't from July to October his Slink pauses because of jealousy and Chidori? He acts like he did in the original P3 with Minato, which is... bleh. Pain in the ass when you have 5 other daytime S.Links to do late in the game too.

Questionable writing? Yeah, but it sadly appeals to a certain demographic. I think they were trying to show "Hey, this is more than a port!" or something. Proof is how blatant they are with what you do in the other dude's rooms. It puts Elizabeth's famous request to shame.

The S.Links in general are the only thing I'm mixed on with the last two games. There's no room to be blunt or consistent with however you perceive your character if you have to essentially brown nose through them.
