sometimes it is a sign of good writing for a character to be irritating sometimes because REAL PEOPLE ARE IRRITATING.

That's partially why I love them all. I love them for their irritating traits, their differences and even the parts of them that piss me off. Even if I'd hate a character if they existed in reality, I love them on Doctor Who (and fiction in general) cuz of what they do to the story/other characters. I don't view people and characters through the same lens, after all. Well, at the very least, I'm not all that capable of liking a person who annoys me irl, but, damn, do I love characters that do so.

I'm also in a very love everything mood recently and it somehow infected Doctor Who and all the characters I was meh about before I'm just all omg I love you cuz you did this.

Hopefully that sorta explains things.

That makes sense, there are characters I love who have traits that would annoy me in reality. But there are also characters who annoy me simply because they just really annoy me and/or they just have traits that bug me both in reality and in fiction. Sometimes it's just a matter of how they're written or acted as well.

Doctor Who deserves all the love it gets, sorry to be a buzzkill, I think I was in the buzzkill mood while you were in the love mood.

Oh, I getcha entirely. And I don't think you're a buzzkill at all! I mean, I'd probably agree with you about some characters just being... ugh if it wasn't for my sudden (and unexpected) cheery disposition. I'm really not sure WHAT has come over me - I'm normally rather critical of everything.
