OP, I'm reading this fic right now.
Denmark is doing some annoying shit to be sure, but you know what? Nobody deserves to be hit.
I can kind of understand both sides, but yeah, violence is out of the question.

It's about Denmark and Norway??? Then why the fuck is Norway the abusive one. Denmark are the one's who have occupied and taken over our country again and again. I swear to god, hetalia fandom makes no sense.

I actually know the fic you're talking about

As someone who helped a friend through the aftermath of a abusive relationship that began exactly the same way as in this fic, I have no sympathy for "N" whatsoever. Being "pushy" is no reason to hit someone.

I haven't read the fic and have only a passing familiarity with the fandom(Hetalia, I gather?). I think it's normal, though, to feel sympathy for fictional scenarios like that, especially if you've dealt with violent people in your life before. I mean, fiction is a great way to work through your emotions. Or the author might just be skewing the situation to focus more on N as the protagonist-- people generally identify with the main character, whether he/she/they/etc. are morally reprehensible or not!

As long as you understand it's really, really not okay to hit anyone outside of a made up story, and that you can't expect everyone to share your viewpoint, I don't think there's anything wrong with just reading a fic and reacting like that...
