Seriously, people self-diagnosing is an issue, but I think this was fairly uncalled for in this particular comment.

I think the biggest issue, or at least the most relevent to this thread, is people who use it as an excuse for wankery. And really, having an official diagnosis doesn't exactly prevent that. Nor does being self-diagnosed bring it arout.

Well, yes and no - in the sense that some people just stick on the label because of an internet description, and they use it to describe themselves without actually knowing for sure they have it.

I.e. a lot of people who use it as an excuse for wankery, do not actually have the syndrome. And this is an issue in how Asperger's is becoming viewed on the internet.
