I think it depends, as a few commenters below said, if they don't know you that well, they might feel a bit hesitant or wondering if they're out of place commenting on your real life concerns. Often, I first friend someone mainly because we have things like favorite authors, TV shows or movies in common, but eventually I do branch out to commenting on their real life entries.

That said, if you've known them for a while,and if you've made it clear how important writing is to you, both fanfiction and original fiction, I don't think there's anything unreasonable about hoping for some feedback on articles or original fiction you post.


Have you considered joining an online writing group, there are several here at livejournal, geared toward original fiction? (You can probably find some via a quick search), there are forums, blogs etc; that you could join too.
