Mystique from the original xmen movies (points to icon) was frelling STUNNING in her mutant form. This actress :-/ not so much. I think it's how they styled her hair that's putting me off the most, and the characters utter lack of confidence.

Also, the fact that they made the scene of young!mystique in mutant form in the kitchen seem so exhibitionist really turned me off her. Mystique from X1-3 was gorgeous because she was who she was and while definitely sexy wasn't always sensual in her mutant form. She just was who she was.

....I think about this too much =D

OK--I haven't seen this movie, but a friend who was raving about it enthusiastically this weekend said they thought Mystique was GORGEOUS in both forms, so you're not alone ;) !

Rebecca Romijin's Mystique, yes. Jennifer Lawrence...it's got nothing to do with her, really, but in the Mystique makeup—and it's especially evident in this secret's picture—they set her widow's peak so high up that it makes her forehead look absolutely huuuuuuuuuge. D:

Normally I'd agree - I thought Mystique in the original movies was awesome - but this picture you chose made her look freakish as hell. Her proportions are all wrong in this image. Why is her neck so long? What's with her freaky-long torso? Yellow BLUH! It's all some really bad styling going on here.
