I agree with you anon. I liked that she had the natural look, it just made her more stunning in a very understated way.

Understated isn't really how Fleur was meant to look though. She's meant to have this stunning alien beauty that makes all men fall instantly in love with her.

Natural beauty is all well and good. But if your character is meant to be part-siren, she shouldn't be natural at all. She should have an unnatural, ethereal look.

Wait, where do you get that alien beauty = lots of makeup though? I never got the impression that she was HOT, just that she was beautiful in an otherworldly way. Personally, I feel that natural styled makeup fits the bill for that perfectly - she's effortlessly beautiful. I never imagined her wearing makeup...ever. Just because your personal spin on 'otherworldly' involves a tube of red lipstick doesn't mean everyone's does. This is coming down to 'it's not like I pictured in the book! They didn't cater to MY imagination!' wank frankly.
