As much as the alternate timeline and möbius double reacharound stuff is interesting, yeah... It's gotten to the point where I basically can't take anything seriously anymore. Which is maybe the point, but... That's s dumb point, if so.

I bet you that if we hadn't had that narratively-insignificant alternate timeline and Terezi had just gone ahead and killed Vriska without the explanation now people would be BAAAAAAAAAAW SHE CROSSED THE LINE WHAT A HUGE BITCH BUT GAMZEE IS COOL AND MARCH ERIDAN IS SO AWESOME AMIRIGHT.

Hussie knows his fanbase. He knows we need to be spoonfed the character's motivation. I mean, fuck, for the few hours between Karkat got the fake letter and the moment we saw Kanaya with Sollux, people were whinning about how Karkat was OMG A TERRIBLE FRIEND AND WHAT AN IDIOT DOESN'T HE REALIZE IT'S A TRAP!? Yes, of course he did! What was he supposed to do, let Gamzee kill Terezi? Give the characters some credit, for fuck's sake!

TL;DR this fandom is reactive as fuck. I can't blame Hussie for defensively explaining the character's motivations.
