Magneto (in the filmverse) advocate killing civilians. Advocate killing children and pregnant women. No matter what you're *intentions* , this is not right. When you advocate hate you'll get hate. *Evolution" is not about killing or be killed. Magneto is a huge hypocrite to advocate genocide when he witnessed one at first hand.

And after humans are killed, what happens? Hate will stop? I doubt it. They already demonstrated they are capable of prejudice and violence I bet a new form of discrimination would form in the mutant society. And as a huge genocide is not above them, I alredy imagine what will happen.

But that all sounds so awesome.

... Then yes, (s)he's absolutely right. Without endorsing the genocide that Magneto winds up advocating in the second and third films, the fact of the matter is that, on that beach, at the moment when the American and Soviet forces choose to commit genocide against the mutants that just saved the entire world, Magneto's choice to turn those missiles against the military forces that launched them was both morally and pragmatically correct. If somebody is so hell-bent on killing me that they'll do so even after I just saved their lives, then yes, you're goddamned right I'm going to consider it an act of self-defense to kill them with the weapons that they used to try and kill me. That's a threshold of unforgivable evil that even Inspector Javert ultimately didn't cross.
