Well, it's not that I'm too old, it's that I'm too young. I'm thirteen, and I'm sure you're familiar with how much that gets used as an insult in fandom. I know I shouldn't take it personally, but I do. I just can't help it. I know there are more important issues regarding the language used in fandom, ones that actually have social context, but nothing stings me more than being implied to be stupid just because of my age.
Hell, I know I'm not the smartest person, but I just want to be taken seriously without having to lie about my age.

I really appreciate the sentiment, though, anon (and everybody else who said similar things below)! Thanks a lot! c:

I've been in various fandoms since the tender age of 9. You don't know half of the crap I got for being a 9-year-old in a forum of mid-to-late teens.
