Haha! You think this secret is bad? When I was a teenager a few friends of mine had the same therapist as me. The therapist would tell me things my friends said during their sessions and vice versa. We tried to get something done about it, and nothing happened. The therapist convinced her superiors that we all made it up to get her fired.

Lesson learned: just because someone has devoted their life to making money off mentally ill people doesn't mean they're trustworthy. Never assume your therapist won't abuse you or fuck you over.

Holy shit, that's the worst therapist ever. :( No relation to the secret, but I just had to say how horrible that must have been. Really really sucks.

Recording someone without their knowledge and permission is illegal in many jurisdictions (unless you have a warrant). It could get them in very serious legal trouble and the tape wouldn't even have been eligible as proof against the therapist because it's illegally obtained evidence.

I trusted my university counselor after she told me things were confidential. Now I'm in bigger shit than I already was --and these were family issues.

I have severe anxiety that needs to be treated but I honestly have lost every urge to talk about anything personal to anyone after that.
