Oh my goodness, every time I even think about the "You got a best friend? Is he smarter than you? Would you trust him with your life?" speech, I just of tear up. They were wonderful and precious and perfect together. Probably my favorite friendship in a show that was no slouch in the great friendships department.

...This may just be me, but refuting one off-hand line of dialogue between the two of them doesn't do much to undermine all their numerous other interactions. Since, hey, the characters develop. Their friendship/chemistry/ship fodder/whatever can change from what it was in that conversation.

This secret just seems like it's trying too hard to annoy shippers.
