7 and 12. A person who sprinkles their speech liberally with horribly mispronounced fangirl Japanese ("baka," "sugoi," "kawaii," etc.) and is generally obnoxious. Usually wishes that they too were Japanese, or (in extreme cases) are convinced that they were Japanese in a past life.

Really. They do.

Ah, okay. I had only heard the terms "Wapanese" and "fangirl Japanese" before, so I was confused. Thanks.

I'VE SEEN IT. THERE WAS THIS WEEABO GIRL WHO WAS INSISTING THAT SHE HAD TO HAVE BEEN A JAPANESE GIRL IN HER PAST LIFE. AND PEOPLE WERE GOING "OMG ME TOO!!!1one." I'd link you to it, but the community where I originally posted it--you know the one of which I speak XD--has been suspended.

[identity profile] murasaki-kaze.livejournal.com 2007-06-15 09:58 pm (UTC)(link)
....oh my God. DX

Okay, so...yeah, no. My brain stops functioning with people who insist stuff like that. I AM JAPANESE. WE'RE NO BETTER THAN ANYONE ELSE. We just...die of liver cancer or old age. :/ Wooo, genetics.

I AM PROUD OF MY WELSH HERITAGE, DAMMIT. I NEED A NAMETAG.

I AM DULL AND ANNOYING.

when did this term spring up? I don't hang around in japanese fandoms...

[identity profile] colortheory.livejournal.com 2007-06-16 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
Dunno. I've only just started using it within the past couple of years, myself.

[identity profile] kosher-jenny.livejournal.com 2007-06-16 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
The way most people use it comes from 4chan, where they wordfiltered "wapanese" to weeaboo. The actual word itself is from a Perry Bible Fellowship comic. Why do I know all this?

[identity profile] offensive.livejournal.com 2007-06-16 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
I think we had a different term for people like that back in the day, since I've never heard weeaboo before, but I also haven't been heavy into the Japlish fandom for a few years.

I can't remember what it was, though....

Oh wait, I remember. Horrifying and should be avoided at all costs less they suck out your soul. I'm glad they finally shortened it.
