No, I get it, in a way. I'd never want to be present for the Vietnam War, but I've met more than enough Civil and Revolutionary war re-enactors who'd love the opportunity to get a taste of the real thing, I'm sure. I think people still view Vietnam as an open wound, though, and so there's more disbelief and argument (despite the fact that, well, it isn't that different).

And I myself tend to think I should have been a teenager in the late '40s/early '50s, despite the oppressive McCarthyism of the era and the incredible lack of freedom or rights of expression I would have had as a homosexual. That or the Victorian era, whatever, neither would have been terribly kind. Oh well.
