4. Wow, you must have been sick of explaining yourself. xD If anything, I got what you were saying and didn't think you were a pretentious twat? A lot of people word their secrets maliciously because that's how they were feeling at the time, I think, so things get misinterpreted. *shrug*

8. I understand what you mean, but for the other side. I have always wanted to be a protester in the sixties. I really just want that rebellious spirit to come again, I think people are too... apathetic about things these days. At least people in the sixties gave a shit.

8: Word.

[identity profile] pretentioustfu.livejournal.com 2007-06-16 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
Ahem, word to wanting to be on the protest side and wanting people to give a shit.

[identity profile] demyx.livejournal.com 2007-06-16 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
Yay, someone who agrees! XD A lot of people look at me funny when I say I wanna live in the sixties and basically be a hippie liberal protester. Granted, I can do that right now, and I should, but it's disheartening when no one around me seems to care. x_x I guess the apathetic attitude is rubbing off on me too.

One day, I will find a time machine and return to my rightful time period. DX

I wish more people would do it now. Take a look at this:

Those links were very good reads! And yet I'm scared now because of what I read. XD; Perhaps when I finally get my driver's license I will drive down to Washington and stage me a good ol' impromtu protest against stupidity.

what's sad is that I was in the school Republican club, and there were very academically smart students in there who were seriously discussing about bombing Iran. They didn't care at all about the innocents they would kill in the process. :/

I'll need to find that song. I love the lyrics.

WTF. Or that the entire world will feel threatened and that Russia or China will bomb US into oblivion so they don't have to worry we're going to invade them next? That we're becoming the Axis in World War 3?

*sigh*

http://youtube.com/watch?v=YEhxHxMa36Q It's used as a soundtrack by a video maker to an NHK documentary here. . .

8. There's a huge difference between wanting to listen to John Sebastian and protest and have people care enough to bother hosing you down and wanting to EXPERIENCE VIETNAM.

On that note, I agree with you =\ Our world's progress as a society has ground to a halt.

[identity profile] demyx.livejournal.com 2007-06-16 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
I agree, I would never want to experience the war. I meant that I would also like to be in that time period, just for a vastly different reason. I dunno what the poster's motives are and I don't really want to understand them. DX Just watching Vietnam war movies makes me shudder.

And yeah, it makes me sad to see. I don't really look forward to the future, I'm hoping people at least care enough to keep the status quo (which isn't that great, but if we're just getting worse and worse... better than nothing).

[identity profile] kinneas.livejournal.com 2007-06-16 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
Have you ever seen Idiocracy? I think that's where the world's heading.

[identity profile] demyx.livejournal.com 2007-06-16 04:59 am (UTC)(link)
HAHAHA YES. I love that movie and agree whole-heartedly. The only thing that comforts me is that I won't be alive to see the sad state the world will get itself in. DX

And I love your icon. ♥
