I think it's the Ted Kord-Max Lord and James Potter-Peter Pettigrew tragedies.

Where is the similarity? A group of bullys and a group of superheroes? JLI was clumsy, funny and sometimes inefficient, there were a bully (Guy Gardener) but they were still heroes and meant well. Mauraders were only a group of troublemakers students not that funny to begin with. I like them more separately.

I don't get the comparison or know much about what the Justice League thing is, but I love the Marauder art. Sirius and James look like such a dicks there, it's amazing.

Remembering Peter Pettigrew actually made it easier for me to accept that Max's evilness may not have been out of character after all, which freaked me out, if that's what you mean by depressed (I can't think of any other reason?)
