What would make a celebrity any less likely of being a game nerd than anyone else? Heck, did you see the Zelda commercial with Robin Williams? He NAMED HIS DAUGHTER ZELDA. That's about as big of a nerd move as you can make.

Because nerd culture is something celebrities exploit these days. Lady Gaga doesn't play games and it would be nothing but attention whoring if she dressed as Rikku, as is everything else she does.

Zelda is a stupid name, but more power to Mr. Williams if he truly likes the series.

I guess going to some sort of convention near you would be too nerdy, then?
The FFX-2 dresspheres were awesome to look at and to cosplay, though, I can personally attest to this.

But I can also see where going as 'a pop star' is easier than going as a character from a series nobody at the party has heard of. Oh well.

Why in the world wouldn't you just make the outfit you want? Why would a singer wearing it somehow change your ability to do it? Honestly, no one is going to care if you show up in a video game outfit, and if they do, they miss the whole point of Halloween.

Aw, Rikku <3 She's my favourite FFX character. OP should let their geek flag fly! I would actually be impressed if someone recognized the outfit if I were to wear it to a costume party. It would also give me an excuse to geek out about FFX. :P

I'd be more embarrassed to say this is a Gaga cosplay than a FF one. FF is awesome.
