Lots of people become interested in new things because of fandom all the time and there's no reason to feel bad about it IMHO. Plenty of Prince of Tennis fans, for example, started following tennis or even took up the sport because they enjoyed the anime/manga/musicals.

I learned pretty much everything I know about baseball from Oofuri. (And Cross Game!) It's totally cool, anon.

My best friend was the opposite. She started checking out baseball anime because she was huge fan of both, but not together, and now Oofuri is her favorite (I got into both baseball and Oofuri through her). I think it is somewhat slow placed, but that's what I like about it, since baseball has a pace like that. It's somewhat relaxing to watch.

It's okay, Eyeshield 21 actually got me mildly interested in American football.

However, I'm still not too interested in seeing OoFuri, and I don't really care if that makes you judge me. It's not even that I think it looks boring, it's that there's other stuff I want to see a lot more and I can't watch everything in the world. /SHRUG
