i was crying over a movie like ten minutes ago /csb

[identity profile] chocolatevenom.livejournal.com 2011-07-02 08:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I suggest you watch 'Aftershock'

[identity profile] kitty-wake.livejournal.com 2011-07-02 08:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I feel similar... the last movie I cried over was "Au Revoir, Les Enfants" about four months ago (and does it count if it was based on a true story?). The last time I was in tears over fiction before that was when I first saw the ending episodes of "The Rose of Versailles", which was in, oooh, 2004. I dunno, maybe I only ever cry over stuff set in France.

that's okay. People react to shit differently, just cause you're not crying doesn't mean you're not moved.

[identity profile] cousinmary.livejournal.com 2011-07-02 08:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't cry at movies either. My friends joke that I'm stone cold, but I do -care-, just not enough to cry. I'm just not much much for tears *shrugs*

[identity profile] cristiline.livejournal.com 2011-07-02 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't cry at fiction much either. I do get teary-eyed fairly often, but it's pretty hard for me to actually shed tears.

[identity profile] ninety6tears.livejournal.com 2011-07-02 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Aww, I just cried over a movie for the first time in a long time yesterday.
It doesn't make you cold-hearted. A lot of very nice people never cry at movies.

I mean there isn't any reason to feel like you're cold-hearted. I just cry a lot at movies :P

That's okay. I tend to cry at really strange things. Like the opening to the most recent Star Trek film. Always makes me cry. IDK

[identity profile] vethica.livejournal.com 2011-07-02 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm the same way. I probably cry at stuff more often than you, but it's still rare. The worst is when people go "If you didn't cry at such and such, you're not human." Um... thanks?

[identity profile] deciphre.livejournal.com 2011-07-02 11:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I know what you mean, there.
Well, I get moved by some things but rarely ever cry.
If I do, it's mostly when it's a sad ending. Usually with a character death.

[identity profile] royaleconqueso.livejournal.com 2011-07-03 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
I almost never cry, not only over fiction but irl too, and when I do is more of anger.

[identity profile] seathing.livejournal.com 2011-07-03 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
I'm the same way about most things, but watching thirty seconds of anything involving Mr. Rogers or just thinking about him is enough to put me in tears. Nothing else does, though.

(Anonymous) 2011-07-03 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
I know what you mean. I NEVER used to cry over movies or books, EVER. Recently it has started happening occasionally. But it still is a rarity.

[identity profile] mskye.livejournal.com 2011-07-03 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
I'm just disturbed that a few secrets up there was a big picture of a baby's laughing face, and then I scrolled down to see a big picture of a baby's crying face. They even both have blankets on their heads...

[identity profile] robintheshrew.livejournal.com 2011-07-03 05:14 am (UTC)(link)
I'd prefer that to my situation: I cry at books and movies, but I can't cry at funerals :/

[identity profile] popcorn-goddess.livejournal.com 2011-07-03 07:56 am (UTC)(link)
Bridge to Terrabithia, Steel Magnolias, Terms of Endearment, and Toy Story 3 have been the only movies that I've ever cried at in my whole 22 years, and when I did cry I was surprised that I even cryied at all. I don't think anon is strange or should be the least bit ashamed. In fact, I honestly don't know how so many people can cry so easily at movies. My mom cries at every other movie and I just can't wrap my head around it.

[identity profile] nicheledres.livejournal.com 2011-07-03 08:00 am (UTC)(link)
I can relate somewhat, Anon. I don't think I've ever cried over human beings in any work of fiction (movies, books, etc). That said, when it comes to animals, I cry like a baby. I even cried during "Marley and Me" when Marley died.

Sometimes I wonder if there's something wrong with me that I ball over fictional animals but can't cry over fictional people.

[identity profile] loracarol.livejournal.com 2011-07-03 08:26 am (UTC)(link)
I've only really properly cried over "Animal Planet", so YANA. ^^;;
