Whether or not this is the best thing for you is debatable (and I think it's fine - you know they're not real,!) but you sure as hell aren't "a creeper" for it. I really wish people would stop describing people doing unusual things as creepy. The term should be reserved for people intentionally doing malicious and violating things, not people who have harmless imaginary friends.
(I'm directing my criticism at people who would call you creepy, not at you.)
