Don't worry, OP. I've done this while I was in school too. I moved in the middle of HS and it being HS it was hard to fit in. I made friends with characters in my head. I still had social connections with people at work because it was easier to befriend them. The Friends in My Head stayed around until I met my then-boyfriend-now-husband, they're gone now. Hang in there, OP, you'll make real friends somehow, but don't be ashamed of those in your head.
