Dear Secret Writers
For the love Azathoth, please stop putting fancy fonts, or pale lettering over busy pictures. They are just unreadable. If you are gonna put text over a picture, either try to put it over a piece of solid cover background, or put it in a really plain, very bold font.

I wish the entire thing would shrivel up and die, it is worse than Potter-wank, or Twi-twats for invading fandoms and swamping them out. You can't barely find a fanfic, or piece of fanart these days that isn't a Supernatfuck crossover, and the Nat-bitches bring it up in every conversation, no matter how off topic it makes things.

perhaps a quota system would be a good idea. Only X amount of secrets per fandom, per month. The huge shitwagon series (SPN, Glee, that crappy MSpaint comic with the guys with horns what ever the fuck that is,) would be limited, and it would encourage the regular posters (c'mon we know most of the posters will post anything just for the sake of seeing their post on screen) will have to devote themselves to the lesser fandoms that don't usually get screentime or usually get drowned out.

Unless you're volunteering to find the fandom of every secret every day and keep count, how would this be implementable?

easy. Secret submitters just have to list the fandom of the secret they are submitting and a simple spreadsheet takes care of the rest. The secrets get manually checked already for things like not!secrets, obvious-wank, "I ship it", and the big culprits like supernat-wank and glee-"insulting diminutive" would stand out instantly if mislabelled, the smaller fandoms who cares if they are mislabelled. It'd add maybe five minutes to the prep of each release.

The thought of going over-quota on the big names might also encourage people to post something else too. The vanity crowd want to see their work onscreen, so faced with a choice of risking having a post dumped because its a big fandumb and over-quota, or a smaller fandom, but almost guaranteed to be posted, and they'll go for the latter everytime. After a few months of training the dumbs not to secret-spam it'd be almost self-enforcing.

ok, going to have to say no to this. Since the order of the secrets pulled from each post is random, if people make more than 5 a week for certain fandoms, whichever secrets are beyond the 5 limit get... what? Deleted? Pushed back another week? There would be a pile-up within days, and it wouldn't be fair for the ones who posted first, especially after the opening of a big movie or whatever (and there's no guarantee you won't get 5 "I hated this movie DDDD:" secrets while the ones you might find interesting are dumped.... and then there's the potential that people will just troll with it and shove in pointless secrets to fill up the slots while the real secrets are dumped, again)

On top of that it's hard enough to get people to put the right warnings for spoilers and whatever on their secrets, getting them to list the fandom would be a nightmare. What about those that forget, do they get deleted too? You'd be seeing maybe 5 secrets a day at that rate

And mostly I'm not willing to keep a spreadsheet of every secret submitted to FS, making up the post itself and doing the comments takes about half an hour to an hour (depending on whether I have to manually list down the fandoms or not - the more fandoms listed, the longer it takes) and keeping a spreadsheet on top of that would be way too much work (yes, I have tried splitting the work with other people, no, it doesn't take a shorter amount of time because we have to coordinate everything as we go, it actually takes longer than one person doing everything sequentially)

Dude, if no one's commenting on the lesser fandoms it's probably because they're not interested. Putting a quota on certain fandoms is just going to make the number of secrets drop even more and people still won't care about the tiny fandoms.

This. Lets face it, obscure fandoms aren't ever going to get as many comments as non-obscure fandoms. And banning Supernatural/Dr Who/etc from F!S isn't suddenly going to make people want to check out the obscure fandoms so they can understand the secrets. It's going to make them leave F!S.

And we barely have many secrets as it is. Banning certain fandoms will only reduce the number of secrets moreso.

Sadly, I don't think they're made for troll purposes. Ever popped into the fandom or been to a SPN convention? You'll soon learn that there is a large portion of the fandom who is as batshit crazy as the secrets are.
