Hahaha well it's not the entire reason for me but it's part of it. It's just a powerful song/scene. It's great. Creepy, disturbing and wonderfully animated. God I love HoND.

It's easily one of my top favs in animation history. So so good. And I think it was such a brave score.

THIS. I think HoND is one of Disney's best movies. Frollo is deeply disturbed, that's the whole point. And that scene is one of the best in the film.

And the score was brilliant. I know the French made a musical of HoND (not related to this film and much closer to the original novel) but a musical using the songs from this film would be brilliant.

I know! This whole thread has folks sharing their disgust and I'm just like, "...these are all the reasons I love this scene/movie."

Even putting subject matter aside, I think the score is such a risk--very adult and historically religious. Just ♥

The Germans made a musical using the Disney score! Der Glockner von Notre Dame (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Der_Gl%C3%B6ckner_von_Notre_Dame). It is the awesomest thing!
