I do this too.

About 10 years ago, when I first started playing computer games, I remember a friend of mine had this architect/landscaping program where we would design and furnish houses.. I can't for the life of me find the name of the program. Grrr.

I just google home interior software and got a few, that was the first one. http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/interior/ I remember that they had some too on my high school computers, but the ones from back then are probably really crappy compared to the newest stuff that comes out.
