That's actually pretty cool. I know that it's not too uncommon to consider John and Jade to be some variety of east asian, but it's cool to see new interpretations.

The one thing with your version that just doesn't quite click with me personally, though, is Grandpa being Indian - I think it's just that he's so much the "great white hunter" character type, to the point that I have a hard time seeing him as something other than white. But again, just my personal impression, and I think it's awesome that you've given some real thought to this.
