Hahaha, me too! I saw it for the first time a year and a half ago, live, off-Broadway. I was torn between laughter and tears with "What Do You Do With A B.A. In English?" and "It Sucks To Be Me." It's great to see my own post-university plight treated with humour and affection.

I was in a friend's car who had Sirius radio (not an english major) when "What Do You Do With a B.A. in English?" came on. I've never seen or heard the show, and had graduated a year prior and had been working my same part-time job ever since. I started hysterically crying.

It did kinda make me feel better though.

<3 That's lovely, OP. I finally saw it live in LA a couple months ago and it was fantastic.

I think a lot of people have this reaction to that show- lord knows I did! I think "For Now" should be required listening for all young adults at least every six months or so.

Saw it live a while ago and it was so amazing. Totally agree with you, Op.

Yeah it's oddly uplifting.

HAH. Yeah, I hear that. ♥

Several musical secrets this week. I like it :)

[identity profile] la-petite-singe.livejournal.com 2011-07-08 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
Same! ...Until I graduated college. Now "I Wish I Could Go Back to College" isn't so much a hilarious song as a gigantic fucking GPOY. D: (I HAVE A B.A. IN ENGLISH. I'M FREAKING OUT.)

[identity profile] redknightalex.livejournal.com 2011-07-08 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
Whenever I'm down, or having a bad day, or life just seems to be throwing me in every direction, I always think of this play and how it changed my life. Saw it live a few years out of college, with no direction and unemployed, and I still remember it all to this day.

I understand, OP.

S-C-H-A-D-E-N-F-R-E-U-D-E!

I went to Avenue Q, and got a sweet mousepad souvenir. It has Trekkie Monster
on it, and, as you can imagine, informs me that the internet is for porn.

Apparently, Naoko Mori played Christmas Eve for a run in the West End. The more you know!

Also, I couldn't agree with this secret more.

...

And this is a secret why? I mean, this show is amazing. It's so true to life in the most hysterical and heartwarming ways. I really need to see it, though. ;A;

[identity profile] lazzchan.livejournal.com 2011-07-08 01:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I saw it live and it was amazing! :D I love the show and yes, like others on here, the "B.A. in English" song fits all too well for my plight. D:
