Agreed regarding shock value. I don't think we see enough of Albus' personality to really judge where he'd go, but I really like the idea of one of Harry's kids being in Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw.

I do feel like he would be in Gryffindor regardless, since the characters we've seen sorted outside their family norm (Sirius for sure, and was Andromeda Black somewhere else besides Slytherin?) have had personalities that severely deviate from those of the rest of their family. Albus seems like a solid kid who sets a great deal of store by what his parents and family think and believe, which is why he'd probably end up in Gryffindor imo. Not necessarily out of choice or preference, but because he's just another in the Potter and Weasley mold.

Yeah, I also thought that Albus was a Hufflepuff. Slytherin's the last House I'd put him in.

I kind of like the idea of him in Slytherin. Not as a "shock" thing (I don't think it's that shocking), but just for the fun of it.

That said, when I first read this, I thought you meant Albus Dumbledore and did that blinky thing I sometimes do. :)

I put him in Slytherin. But not for shock. Because I don't doubt one of his kids could be ambitious and crafty and a Slytherin. Granted, I also think Scorpius would be in Ravenclaw, breaking the mold of his family.

Eh, I don't play w/the next gen kids. But I figure AS often gets put into Slytherin by fandom, less for shock value and more because he was worried about it and it can be good fodder for character exploration. Then again, though - this is HP fandom we're talking about and it wouldn't surprise me if fandom made him into a "bad boy" or something. IDK.

Oh man, somewhere in my brain, I thought you meant Albus DUMBLEDORE as a Slytherin! And a little part of me went, 'Wait.. but JKR said he was a Gryffindor! But think of how delicious it would have been if he had been in Slytherin.' Honestly, he probably would have done really well in that house too, and if he was I would have forgiven JKR for all the Slytherinshaming.

Man, I seriously LOVE putting the next gen kids in random houses. Like, I always put James in Gryffindor, and then Albus and Lily in Slytherin, for the fun dynamic it creates in the family, but I would definitely not object to Albus in Hufflepuff and Lily in... Ravenclaw, who knows. I just see it as fun, but yeah, most of the time it's definitely for some shock value, haha.

My headcanon has Al in Ravenclaw for sure. I just like imagining him as the little bookworm who's always full of random facts of knowledge, and eager to prove himself in his studies. James, meanwhile, would be in Gryffindor, while Rose would follow suit and Scorpius would be in Slytherin.

But I also imagine Al, Rose, and Scorpius being the next Power Trio of Hogwarts, different houses be damned, so there you go.
