Lol okay. The "my soul is British/Scottish/whatever" peeps in my neck of the wood take the idea that since they're totally one of you, they should shun anything British that gets tooo popular with the yanks. They like stuff before it's cool amongst the yanks, or they try to go for stuff that Americans have never heard of and get upset when they find that some have heard of it. Harry Potter is as mainstream as it gets. At best, they've read it while loudly talking about what a crap writer Jo is.
