Seriously? Are there eager mobs chasing you around the country begging you to do your Daniel Radcliffe impersonation? Begging you to sign autographs from 'that random English person'? I really must visit the US again sometime, because I honestly don't remember anyone treating me as anything another than another random human being on my previous visits.

...except for something that happened to my family on a visit to Miami about twenty years ago. We went on an Everglades trip in a motor boat, and a family who happened to be German cut in front of us (probably accidentally) in the queue. Hearing my dad's English accent when he grumbled jokingly about this, an American guy in an enormous hat put his hand on my dad's shoulder, and began loudly haranguing the German family, saying things like, "these guys and us, we beat you in World War II! Get back in line!" Now *that* was an awkward and disturbing experience.
