The JPop fandom I've found is a bit less crazy. Still somewhat crazy (fans who buy thousands of copies of singles so they can vote for their favorite girl group member in an election), but I haven't seen as much negativity-driven crazy. When popular idol Fujimoto Miki was discovered to be dating her now-husband, the fans didn't gang up on her or her boyfriend; they got upset at the tabloids that printed the pictures, saying that it's Miki's business.

Yeah, wotas are generally harmless and pretty mature when it comes to their fanboy tendencies. A lot of craziness I've seen in j-pop fandom is from JE fans. I'm a pretty big JE fan myself (mostly of Hey!Say!JUMP).
