Clean:
a : free from dirt or pollution b : free from contamination or disease c : free or relatively free from radioactivity

Clear: a : easily heard b : easily visible : plain c : free from obscurity or ambiguity : easily understood : unmistakable

I think writing "clearly" instead of "cleanly" would have removed any possible negative connotations.

But English not being your first language (it isn't mine, either), I can understand the confusion. () () () () ()

I tried to say something like "in a clean-cut category" but I didn't know how to make that go into the sentence and sound correct. Hmm...
