I like the Sheriff myself, and I think Kim Rhodes and Jim Beaver work really well together.

I also agree to an extent about Gabe and Balthazar, though if anyone's going to be able to cheat death, it's definitely those two. However, I really feel that Adam is a character full of (understandably) untapped potential. I liked the twist of him already being dead when they found him, but I wanted more with the real Adam once he came back to life. I also understand why that's not likely to happen now. But with him locked away in the cage, what I really want right now is some appearance of him calling Sam and Dean out for leaving him down there with just a single passing mention of the fact that he'd been left behind.

There really wasn't anything they could do to get him out, though. Death only agreed to get one soul out, and he's the only one (or WAS the only one, anyway, no telling what Castiel could do now) with the one to get anyone out of there. Dean did want BOTH of them out, and requested it. But when push came to shove, he had to choose, and he chose Sam. And really, could anyone blame him? Sam was the brother that he grew up with -- that he practically raised, since their situation forced him to be Promoted to Parent most of the time. Yeah, he chose Sam in a heartbeat, but he hardly knew Adam. Family means more than blood. Adam may have been a brother through shared DNA, but only Sam was a brother through bond.

No, they don't spend their time mourning him, but I feel like -- shared blood or not -- Adam meant about as much to them as any other Victim of the Week. Yes, they feel bad, and yes, it's horrible, and yes, they would do something about it if the situation presented itself, but it hasn't. They physically cannot get him out in any way, shape, or form, and Death has already said that he'd only get one, and that one was Sam. Now, Castiel might do something with Adam in season seven, he probably has the power to, but whether he will or not . . . well, we'll see.

But I really don't think Sam and Dean are at fault here. They're only human; they can only do so much.

I understand that entirely. I wouldn't say that I feel that either of them are at fault, because, yeah, Death would only bring one soul out of there. The problem I have is how little concern they've had for the fact that Adam, who, all things considered, is not much more than a victim who was in the wrong place at the wrong time, was locked in the cage with Michael and Lucifer along with Sam. Even a conversation about how 'I want to do something to get him out of there, but there's really nothing we can do to help him' would placate me. It's the lack of reaction, because he's someone who is suffering at least in part because of them.

I agree about Adam. He just got a horrible ending and he did nothing to deserve it. I totally get why Dean chose Sam over Adam and I would expect nothing else from him, but I feel sorry for Adam. I also found him kind of interesting and I would have liked to see more of him interacting with the guys. It's kind of cool seeing Sam as an older brother. Saying all that to say this, I'd like to see Adam return at some point.
