I just stayed away for the most part but I saw snippits of it. The misogyny claims, Aang bashing, the Zuko-woobification, the character and relationship twisting, etc. I like my fanon without the side of canon-bashing and character-warping.

Yeah. The worst is that the canon-bashing and creator-bashing and Aang-bashing it still hasn't stopped. In fact, it's only gotten worse with the Korra announcements.

Which is why I stay away. I happen to like Aang. And I happen to like the canon. And I don't think either should be subjected to the crap just because Zutara didn't happen. And it wasn't going to happen. And honestly, it has just as many issues if not more.

I think if you have to bash Aang or the canon to make your ship look good, then you don't have much of an argument to begin with.

...Can I reprint this entire comment on a sofa-sized canvas and hang it in the ship's living room? Pretty please?

Yeah, I created that community when I was still stupid and butthurt, and now I'm actually kind of ~~really really~~ sick of running it for that reason. But it has a lot of members, so I don't feel quite right just deleting it, either (though believe me, I've been tempted). So as a compromise, if you check the community profile and a few posts down on the recent entries, I introduced a couple of new anti-bashing rules. They were not very well-received, either *facedesk*

Yes, because it's clearly a rant community, based on hating the show.

If you don't like it, you can leave! That's not deleting it, but it's washing your hands of it.

I also find it a bit hypocritical how you're bashing everyone in that fandom for being "stupid and butthurt" if you were exactly the same way.

Because of the way LiveJournal changed the rules with community founders, I'm not 100% sure I could just leave without deleting it. But I may as well try since there is a second maintainer.

And um...I'm calling out the Zutara fandom as "stupid and butthurt" because I was the same way and I realize now that I was being kind of a gigantic douche about a silly cartoon (and that a lot of the Zutara fans, especially on LJ and on dA, are still being gigantic douches about it). How exactly am I being hypocritical when I'm calling out my own bad behavior right along with them? Or did you miss the part where I said I'm ashamed I acted like that?

As far as I can tell you're still stupid and butthurt, just now you're stupid and butthurt towards Zutara fans instead of the show. You're a bigger douche than the people you're calling out. You may be ashamed that you acted like that in the past, but you're doing the exact same thing right now. Just look at the comments and see who's acting stupid and butthurt.

Eh, think whatever you want, TBH. I'm not going to apologize for calling it how I see it, especially when I've been on that side. Though after reading the comments, the only one I think is stupid and butthurt is the troll who's too lazy to spend two minutes to get an account and sign in.
