Your assumption that because something is 'fiction' it does not have fucked up implications and rl consequences is really quite troubling. Authors speak their political and social views through their work everywhere.

Something can be as 'made-up' as it wants to be in the context of the fictional setting and story, but the sentiment it is disseminating in this strip IS a particular view and politic that is very much at work in the real world.
