2. Having been bitched at by a friend for not having played the game (I can't afford a GC and probably won't in the next few years) but according to her 'having the galls to compliment this OAV/it's animation when I know nothing about it'? I can relate.

However, it doesn't change the fact that I do know the game, and it's characters, and as a piece of animation, that OAV was beautiful. It's the same as the time Advent Children came out and FF7 fans were annoyed (myself included) but you know what? I still liked it for it. But that's just me.

Hope you don't have to go through a mean bitchfit for not being up on some game's canon just because you supposedly don't know about it. /tl;dr

8. I hate the elitist otaku -- of yeah, these exist in a bad way -- who insist they're not. I'm a gamer, have been one for years, anime came by extension of that. I cosplay. Sure Japan's a pretty place and is on my list of places I want to visit ... but I don't get this obsession people have with it. Whenever some elitist otaku who thinks they know Japanese wants to lecture me on the kanji or how the name is something else in Japanese and pronounced differently or whatever, I just politely explain to them that at least I don't pretend to know all things Japan because I might enjoy a few anime series. I'm beginning to believe that there are fewer and fewer people like me out there these days. Can't you enjoy something without having to become consumed with pretending to know its culture and language?

8. im always afraid to tell people im trying to learn japanese cus they mught get that idea of me! XD it took me a couple years and home-made flash cards to finally be able to read kana good. im proud :( (though it probably took forever cus i wasnt too serious about it early on) i just really wanna learn a second language, and this one has proven to be FAR more fun than spanish, and it is also relevant to my interests so yey lol.

2. I personally hate the fact that you can pair Lloyd up with any of the characters, in the game. Sure, it added depth to each character, but I hate having to play through the game more than once just to hear the conversations between all my favorite characters.

I haven't watched the OVA dubbed yet (I'm half lazy and only downloaded the RAW XP) but it looks like it's turning out quite well. :o

8. I learned the proper pronunciation, katakana, hirigana, kanji and grammar (well, enough grammar for a 3-year-old) of the Japanese language so I could at least respect the language. And I'm not even in a lot of Japanese fandoms anymore.

25. Actually, I can kinda see where you're coming from. And being slashed by yaoi fangirls is not sounding fun by any means.

Generally in fandom the internet in general I try and act as androgynous as possible so people don't make stupid assumptions/hit on me/etc. =\

8. I know just enough Japanese to be able to catch some simple sentences. That makes me happy :) I don't think it's fair to bash everyone who became interested in Japanese via anime--the ones who end up really learning it will learn loads of other stuff too. Those who stick with it have a good deal of perseverence, imho. It's the ones who take a year of Japanese and pretend they know it all that are annoying.

10. Oh my god!! I loved that show! I only remember enough to know I loved it, but I did!

19. Yeah, seriously. The only mashed-name pairing that I don't loathe is Mcshep from Atlantis, for some reason. The rest just seem really stupid.
