I'm kind of curious about what that person did to ruin the fandom so badly for you. Some people are ridiculous (the other person, not you, OP.)

It's not so much that she ruined the fandom, I guess, but she was obnoxious to the point that little things that remind us of her turn the entire conversation towards her.

It was in an RP setting. She would continuously whine and bitch when someone did something (IE introduce a plotline in an RP) she didn't like, would criticize people in the most obnoxious way possible (EX: "I want to play X character because I think I can do it better than the current player" or "Your art style is too generic anime" or "That plotline is stupid, you should figure out another reason that [thing] happened to your character so we can ignore soandso's plotline.") all while she tried to shoehorn in her terrible OCs and completely unfitting plotlines that catered to her unusual fetishes and trying to push her interests on everyone. When she was given crit, she would generally throw a hissy fit and say that she "couldn't accept it" even when the crit had valid reasoning.

As far as this secret goes, it began as me just being immature and petty and not wanting to have any other fandoms in common with her than I did already, since we both frequent a particular art site and it's a relatively obscure show, but I've come to really like it, but I'm not sure how to bring it up with friends who aren't into it because I'm afraid that the conversation will end up just being us talking about her. I'd like to find some people who I can nerd out over this show with.

Like I said, it's not so much that she ruined the fandom for me as it is I'd like to find a part of the fandom where I'm not having to deal with her.

Actually, you should think about the fandom over there at ff.net, OP. It isn't the best quality work, but the people are genuinely friendly. It's so small, they're happy to see a new face. They'll help you find the fansites.

I'm sorry another fandom was ruined for you. It's amazing how people think they have the right to do that.

Oh! I didn't think about that! I had browsed the TB section there, but I never thought about joining up and talking to them since I'm not much of a writer. Thanks! :D

I know there's a yahoo group for Thunderbirds. But they're really the most active I've seen the fandom. I belong to the group but I really don't say much cause I'm more of a fan of the movie than the show.

I agree those sites are dead, but also check out ff.net. That's probably the most active one I can think of off hand. Especially since they got rid of the second category for movie and just recombined everything.
