I think that anon is arguing that fictional children aren't victims, but rather pedo-creating villains.

An argument that would only make sense if you assumed that discovering a sudden interest in Pandora Hearts shota, featuring particular characters for reasons having to do with their particular dynamic together, somehow will translate into developing a sexual interest in actual live children -- i.e., pedophilia. Which is really, really not how it works. Point in evidence is that oh-noes-pedophilia anon above is pointing to anime in particular, where all the characters are stylized to the point where there's often very little to give a viewer any visceral sense of how old a character is supposed to be.

We don't see secrets like this about child actors in live-action franchises, let alone secrets that say, I used to think pedophilia was disgusting but thanks to anime now I lust after this 12-year-old real child. Because it doesn't happen, I'm thinking. Because basic sexual orientation and attraction, that's not how it works.

Sorry. As you can probably tell it doesn't really have anything to do with you, or your Spidey macro. There's somebody else in the anime community who's being a real douche about things like this, and my feelings about her behavior kind of boiled over and sloshed over at you by accident of timing.

Um... correct me if I'm wrong though, but... aren't the characters in question in that image... the same age? Not as pictured, but due to circumstances, they started out the same age and that's where the dynamic of the relationship comes in, right? I'm under the impression that one of them aged up due to things beyond his control, right?

Mind you, I just started reading, but even I saw this a mile away when I looked at character designs.

They did use to be the same age, so it is more understandable if you like it. Personally though I am put off by the fact that Gil feelings are both misdirected and the result of brainwashing. Creates lovely angst...

The 'child' in this series is also 15 and the adult man was only aged up due to circumstances and the dynamic between them was created when they were both the same age. Not too mention that all the power lies with this 'child' who could order the man to do anything and he would do it due to the extreme brainwashing and abuse he suffered. It's hardly a pairing based on pedophilia.

But I try to console myself with 'fact: they are same age, legally'. It's a difficult and lonely task.
