I think Jason's interaction with Scarlet showed a side that hasn't been addressed pretty much at all. I liked the idea that he cared for her enough to tell her to get out of there when they were getting their asses kicked--and as selfish as it was at heart, I loved how he tried to help her come to terms with what had happened to her.
I might be stretching things a bit, but I really think Scarlet gave something to him. He says it himself: "I never could have planned for you."
That said, I think it opens Jason up to the possibility of a partner, but not as immediately as it happened in canon. I could see Scarlet showing up to help if they're in the same general area, but I can't see Jason willingly taking on a partner.
