It used to bug me too, but now I just think of it this way: the man has done stand up. The man did stand up when he was a lot younger and not nearly as funny. He has a tough skin and can take care of himself. So there's really no need for me to be protective, or worry about what other people think of him; I can just sit back and be thankful he's out there to channel my rage at certain things into humor and make the world a little more bearable.

Eh, I don't think there's anything wrong with caring a little. I mean, I don't keep myself up at night worrying about political criticism of celebrities who I don't even know, but the bullshit getting thrown at him is, well, bullshit, even if he can take care of himself. People should try to be ignorant jerks less often.

Oh, I don't think there's anything wrong with caring, a little or a lot. It was just kind of exhausting for me, until I figured out how to not take it so personally. But yes, people not being ignorant jerks would be even better.
