Or at least limit them to being only a minute or so long. That's what I like about Phelous and Nostalgia Critic's reviews. 97%+ of their video is usually (though there are exceptions) dedicated to the actual review, while the skits take up about 3% at the most. And they are usually related to the movie in some manner.

I don't watch Linkara's reviews, but I was pretty disappointed in Lindsay's The Little Mermaid review. The Little Mermaid is one of my favorite childhood movies and I would have loved to hear her views on it...more specifically, her opinions on certain scenes (sort of like what Critic does). But instead we got a brief rundown of the plot, some of the sexism in the film, then about 5 minutes worth of the makeover fairy giving Todd a makeover and being generally obnoxious, and another 3 minutes of the TGWTG's female cast singing. That =/= a review. >_>

The thing is,she can actually make funny skits, her Grease 2 video was a good example, she cut down the skits, and some were actually pretty funny Todd's I hate everything song in particular. The problem is that she just wants to cram Nella and her other friend down peoples throats and it's really getting irritating.

I have no problems with her friends popping up to make jokes, hell Nella was fucking hilarious in her earlier reviews, but holy shit we did not need the fucking Dark Nella saga. It ruined like, all her reviews for however long it went on because I could not care less.

If you look at the best reviewers on the site, you'll see the best ones have the least amount of skits: Cinema Snob, Lupa, Todd, Brows Held High, and Phelous. I keep the Critic off the list because he seriously overuses memes past the point of insanity.

I am fine with skits; always have been and always will be. If the reviewers want to have some fun with their reviews, I'm all for it. But I agree that they shouldn't neglect the movie in favor of their skits and I've come to realize that the Nostalgia Chick has been doing this a lot.

Linkara and Spoony always keep their skits at the beginning or end of their reviews so that people who don't care for them can avoid them and the rest of the video is dedicated to the review itself. The Chick's videos are based on the skits rather than the videos, it seems. As much as I loved the Dark Nella saga (because Nella sold that story to me, not the Chick), the movies featured in it didn't get as much screentime as the skits did.

So yeah, in the case of the Nostalgia Chick, I'm starting to agree with people who think her skits are way too long and overused.

Yeah, they're all doing these reviews because they enjoy it, and they're under no requirement to do what we tell them. They listen because they respect us as fans, but they don't have to. So I'm not going to demand they adhere to a certain way of doing things.

I will agree that the Chick's skits are beginning to dominate her reviews more than the actual reviews. The Grease 2 review wasn't bad, but the Little Mermaid one was fairly well dominated by the skit. Maybe she's starting to figure out the balance, but I think that she might be better off separating the skits into a side video, like the Thanks for the Feedback or TeamNChickLabs things.

I'm not against any of the reviewers trying something new and different, but the skits are a little dominating, given that they've been put in relatively quickly. Linkara built to his storylines starting up, they just suddenly appeared in Lindsey's reviews.

If you look at the best reviewers on the site

You do realize that which reviewers are "best" is completely a matter of opinion, right? I like some of the ones you mentioned (Lupa and Todd), but I also like Critic, and Film Brain (who doesn't do skits at all, AFAIK) and, yes, Linkara and Spoony. Hell, I watched Spoony's FFVIII and FFX reviews specifically FOR the story lines.
