Does Bridesmaids count as a romcom though? I see classifying it as "chick flick" or whatever, but I was under the impression that genre-wise, it was just a straight-up comedy?

I'm pretty sure it was supposed to just be a straight-up comedy. Hell, part of the reason that they wrote it was to be all, "Dammit, women can be funny too!" I really liked how the romance part of it was just a subplot.

I found the romantic subplot to be a significant part of the story, but it's definitely true that it's not the central focus. Love (in various forms) is a main theme, though.

So I guess... comrom? Or comedy and forget I said anything? lol
