If it was an anon hate meme (the only anon meme I can picture this kind of stuff showing up at), then the OP deserves it as far as I'm concerned. There are only two reasons anyone clicks on those things knowingly, and both of them make the seeker a shitty person.

Unless one of her flist goes there and then PM'd her to warn her what was happening? That has been known to happen.

I don't want to defend anon memes cos I hate them too... but sometimes they are used for things other than bashing and wank. Furthermore, I wouldn't call OP a shitty person just because she got curious one day. I don't think going there out of curiosity makes you shitty, but staying there for hours saying shitty things def. makes you shitty.

You could also just be searching your name/username/fanfic title to see if there's some review or something that you missed, or whatever; I do that occasionally with my non-LJ blog, to see if it's getting mentioned somewhere. She could have just searched her username for whatever reason, and if she was discussed enough it probably would have popped up.

The OP doesn't deserve any of this shit. Some people - myself included - follow things like that due to paranoia. We'd rather know if someone was talking crap about us than not know, even if it will hurt us.

Plus, there are plenty of anonmemes around which aren't hatememes and which end up having hateful threads on them.

Stupid fucking analogy, dude. Shit in a sewer does not have your fucking name on it. Someone who goes down worrying if there's shit in a sewer is involving themelves unnecessarily in something that does not involve them, which is the last thing that could be said about this situation, because it involved OP from the get-go.

If you're that worried (in your own words, "paranoid") that people out there on the internet are saying stuff about you, then you either 1) know there's a damn good reason why they would, or 2) are a pathetic, ninnying, worthless waste of air. Neither one warrants any sympathy, because both mean you're fucking stupid and you deserve whatever you go digging in that sewer for.
