I have no idea what your fandom is, but in mine, a lot of the art and fic is so bad that it teeters off the deep end into hilarious. My friends and I scout out art and writing because we want to find the good stuff. Often, we bump into the bad stuff. When it's REALLY BAD it becomes funny, and we laugh about it a bit and what went wrong, the same as when we find good things and talk about what went right. Sometimes, it tends to be the same people popping up over months or even years, because they never got better and continue to be hilariously bad. We don't go insulting them as people, we don't scout them out to make fun of them, we just bump into their shitty work and think it's funny.

I'm sure people do the same to my work and my friends work, and you know what, if they're doing it in private, I don't give one fuck. I don't think that makes them bad people, and I don't think my friends or I are bad people.

I don't feel that just because people might be doing it to you behind your back means that you should necessarily be doing it behind others', either.
