Gotham City Sirens 24. This panel makes it look waaaay better than it is. I've been following the title, despite an extremely shaky premise and the repeated notion the comic has that groups of women only talk/think about men. This closing plotline made me feel like my effort was wasted.

The secret isn't kidding. Harley is one of my favourite characters, and her actions were down-right repulsive to me in this arc. :(

Yeah, I picked up the series in the beginning middle (I think I started with issue 11) and read a few after that and bought the first hardcover volume but...it just didn't stick. When I was picking up IIM a few days ago I thumbed through it and did a double take. I know Joker is back but I kind of liked her character development.

Seeing her regressed has me torn because I like her crazy personality but at the same time I liked that she was standing on her own and hung out with her friends. *sigh*

I'm not looking forward to her reboot in the new group, I forget what it's called, but her outfit looked awful. I may pick up Birds of Prey but...I kind of was hoping Harley would be in it and not Ivy. Maybe it'll be better than GCS.

That whole plotline has just been a wreck. Urgh.

I have a sneaking suspicion that this Harley, the one who kills a guard she's just confessed to having a soft spot for even after musing that there's absolutely no need to kill him, is the Harley we'll be seeing in the DCnU. A horrible new characterisation to go with the horrible new look.

Just gives me incentive to stay away from Suicide Squad, even if there are other characters in it that I like. (Seeing Harley walking through what appeared to be snow in a corset and mini skirt in the released previews didn't help.)

You've just made me really glad I gave up reading GCS during the arc where Talia convinces Zatanna they have to wipe Selina's memory in regards to Bruce being Batman. Because my GOD that made me RAEG!!1

It started out pretty cute but it went so downhill, which makes me incredibly sad because I love all the characters.

Yeah, that arc was pretty damn awful as well. Honestly, Talia's character has been dragged over the coals since Batman RIP - her behaviour towards Damian in Batman & Robin has been just terrible.

It was a love of the characters that kept me slogging through - Selina, Ivy and Harley are such fan favourites, it's a total let down that they've been given such a poor showcase. They should have been having wacky anti-hero adventures, where Selina pulled off heists and tried to keep Ivy from murdering anyone and Harley was dancing around doing her thang. Instead so many of their stories involved them bickering about or moaning about men and dating and romance.

This, this, this. Where were my wacky hijinks, damn it? Why was almost every story about their thoughts about the men in their lives, right down to giving Ivy a romance? The freaking series practically manages to fail the Bechdel test, that was not the reason I picked it up.

And Harley making explicit what was between her and Ivy only to use it to beat her up and abandon her made me want to wail. I was actually disappointed Ivy forgave her. *fumes*

The cover for issue 2 makes me want to stay FAR THE HELL AWAY from Suicide Squad. Harley's boobs start at the collar bone and she has no nipples. The giant mallet cannot save it.

I read the first four issues of GSC and thought it was going to be awesome (Harley + Ivy + Selina? Sign me up!) but I couldn't get past those four issues. I'm glad I didn't even bother to try and keep going.

I guess a murdering Harley is more IC but... They were in that morally grey area and being BFF! They were being all cute and awesome and badass. And then they have Selina be a cunt and have to destroy years of characterisation. ARGH!
On the good side, I'm really interested how Ivy will be in BoP. But I don't know why they couldn't let Harley be.

That issue ruined ALL of Sirens for me.

They tore apart Harley and what Selena did to Ivy kinda irked me.

The whole reboot has me in a bad mood, as well.
