More David Thewlis for me then. Woof!

I disagree that everyone loved Tonks. Really, it seemed more that they either tolerated her clumsiness to avoid screaming matches -- which inevitably happened anyway. And Harry was more just like...w/e. And Lupin's importance fades pretty quick after he leaves Hogwarts. Though he gains points as a minor character for being the best professor Harry ever had -- when he was there.

The other points that she could be a Mary Sue could be true, but by then Rowling had probably read tons of Mary Sue fanfic in her growing fandom and created Tonks to poke fun at some of them and inserting herself to some degree as well...as she does with all the characters.

I thought the most popular het ship for Remus was Remus/Hermione, but, to be honest, I've seen him paired with men most of the time.

He also totally had the best character song of the series.
(omg I miss Frontier so much.. I have bittersweet memories of it, but still... I remember it more fondly than even Adventure and oh man I want to watch it again, even the dub)

The most epic Mary Sue ever, really? Does she take over the plot in any way?

I blame the Winklevii from The Social Network.. even though I was already aware that they were not really twins. I had trouble paying much attention to their scenes because I was just imagining Cameron and Tyler.. ahem.. o___o;

Oh and now Charles/Wesley (X-Men/Wanted) crossover fic is pretty hot too. McAvoy on McAvoy action. \o/

Same. I like that it can turn everything on its head, like Kotetsu's powers, Hero TV, that stuff about Lunatic, and as of next week, Ouroboros. Barnaby, for example, I care little about but not outright hate. How he's gonna react if some of the fandom's predictions come true on the other hand... oh boy.

That's pretty much what holds her back from that, yeah. Though for a background character/red shirt/love interest, she does grab a lot of attention.

Oh, Kouichi! ♥♥♥ Definitely my favorite digidestined, and Frontier is definitely my favorite Digimon series.

(And spelling his name without a U drives me mad too!)

I've been meaning to watch this series because I've been told it has really great female characters in a space opera plot, which is both pretty hard to find and very relevant to my interests. Can anybody tell me a bit about it?

Yeah, they messed up on a lot of things. Even went to ARM to see all the thing they did wrong, which is... quite a lot. IMO, the best things out of 2 are Jakuri, Infel, and Cocona anyway.

I would love to play 3, but I lack a PS3. Even then, I'm not fond of all the...water balloon physics/plains of flat chests. Will admit that the hymmnos are still awesome, like FLIP_ARPHAGE and Kazejirushi(?).

I figured Jade/Karkat was less popular because Jade seems to be the least popular of the kids.

Trust me, I thought the same thing til I played the game. The flat/large chest thing really falls to the side.

Cocona is even better in 3 than she is in 2. Have you heard METHOD_HYMMELI? It's arguably one of the best songs in the 3rd game, easily one of the more 'emotional ones' and it's the only one in the Ar Tonelico 2 dialect.

EXEC_COSMOFLIPS is a really powerful song too.

They tie all three games into the ending and all three ops are in the credits.

It's just... it's so much better than I thought it was going to be and it's worth a watch on youtube (not the dub, it's worse than 1 and 2 combined) MasterLL has the majority of the game uploaded and I know some other people do too.

^^;; sorry to spazz on ya, these games are so underground it's ridiculous.

It's interesting how the chose to n"genderswap" gwen's role, in giving her characteristics mostly associated with male characters: She's short-used, impulsive, often tempted to be unfaithful to her spouse, having to leave spouse & kid for the job, etc etc.

I tended to dislike Gwen, but I found this an interesting take on her.

7. Damn, this makes me miss awesome 80s effects. You know, back when everything wasn't 95% CG.

Blah, though now the tension is on Jack's side though...which does make him more human, but also a bit sad.
