Personally? She reeked of Mary Sue to me in the first two seasons. (Which were the only two I watched.) And it often felt to me like she was being forced down our throats there; so much of the beginning series had her as the focus, along with Jack and her potential love triangle with him and Rhys, to the point that it started feeling like the "Jack and Gwen show".
I was never rabid about it, but yeah. That's why I wasn't too fond her.
